Privacy Policy — ClipWish

1. Information We Collect#

We may collect the following categories of information:

1.1 Device Identifier and App Access Information#

ClipWish does not require users to create a traditional user account and does not ask users to provide account registration data such as name, username, email address, Apple ID, Google account ID, or other login credentials in order to use the core app experience.

We may assign or receive a device-based identifier, app instance ID, installation identifier, or similar technical identifier. We use this information to provide the App, maintain subscriptions, prevent abuse, diagnose issues, understand basic usage of the Services, and maintain service security.

On iOS, if you grant permission through Apple's AppTrackingTransparency framework, we may also access Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and use certain device-level, app-level, and event-level data for advertising attribution, advertising measurement, campaign performance analysis, and related tracking activities as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not grant permission, we will not access IDFA for tracking and will not use data collected from the app for cross-app tracking in a manner that requires AppTrackingTransparency permission.

We may also process subscription or purchase status associated with your app installation, device identifier, or app store account through Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat.

1.2 User Content#

To provide the core functionality of ClipWish, we may collect and process content that you upload, create, generate, or share through the App, including photographs, videos, images, text prompts, greeting messages, optional recipient names, and generated greeting cards, images, or videos.

User Content may include personal information depending on what you upload or create. For example, a photo or video may include a person's face, voice, likeness, or other identifiable details.

We use photographs, videos, optional recipient names, and other user-provided content primarily as necessary to deliver the editing, generation, and creative functionality of the App, as well as related operational, security, fraud prevention, debugging, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and policy enforcement functions described in this Privacy Policy.

1.3 AI Generation Data#

ClipWish may use third-party AI and media processing providers, including Fal.ai, as part of its backend service infrastructure to support the creation, generation, editing, and delivery of personalized greeting cards, images, videos, and related creative content.

To provide these AI-powered features, we may process uploaded files, optional recipient names, text prompts, greeting messages, customization choices, and generated outputs.

ClipWish does not use uploaded photographs, videos, optional recipient names, or other user-provided media to train its own AI models. However, content submitted to third-party AI or media processing providers may be processed in accordance with those providers' own terms, privacy policies, and data handling practices, which may differ from ours. We encourage you to review those providers' privacy policies for more information.

1.4 Payment and Subscription Information#

If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. ClipWish does not directly process card payments in the App.

We may receive limited payment-related information from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, such as purchase status, subscription type, transaction identifier, renewal or expiration status, country, currency, pricing tier, and paywall interaction or subscription eligibility information.

We do not directly collect or store your full credit card number, bank account number, or payment credentials.

1.5 Device, Technical, and Usage Information#

We may automatically collect technical and usage information, including device type, model, operating system, app version, IP address, language and region settings, device identifiers, app instance identifiers, crash logs, diagnostics, performance data, network data, screens viewed, features used, templates selected, generation attempts, purchases, subscription events, session duration, and interaction events.

Subject to your permissions, platform settings, and applicable law, some of this information may also be used for analytics, attribution, advertising measurement, campaign performance analysis, fraud prevention, and related marketing performance services.

2. How We Use Information#

We use the information we collect to:

provide, operate, secure, and maintain ClipWish;
create, generate, edit, store, and deliver personalized greeting cards, images, and videos, including by using AI providers such as Fal.ai;
process and manage subscriptions and paid features through Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat;
identify app installations, maintain app functionality, manage subscription access, and protect service security;
provide customer support;
improve App functionality, user experience, performance, reliability, and product design;
analyze feature usage, retention, conversion, and product performance;
personalize content, templates, greeting messages, generated outputs, and user experience, including by using an optional recipient name if you provide it;
measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, attribute app installs or conversions, and evaluate marketing performance, subject to your permissions, platform settings, and applicable law;
detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, or policy violations;
comply with legal obligations; and
enforce our Terms of Use and other policies.

3. Legal Bases for Processing#

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another region that requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we process your information based on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligation, depending on the specific processing activity.

Where required by law or platform rules, including on iOS for certain tracking-related purposes, we rely on your consent before processing personal information for tracking, advertising attribution, advertising measurement, or related cross-app or cross-site marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Information#

We may share information with the following categories of recipients:

4.1 Service Providers#

We may share information with vendors that help us operate ClipWish, including providers of cloud hosting and storage, AI generation and media processing, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications and messaging, subscription management, attribution, advertising, and marketing performance measurement.

We currently use the following third-party service providers:

OneSignal for push notifications and related messaging services. OneSignal's privacy policy is available at: https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy;
RevenueCat for subscription management, paywall screens, purchase status tracking, entitlement management, and related payment infrastructure. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/; and
advertising, attribution, and measurement partners or platforms that we may use from time to time, such as TikTok, Meta, or similar providers, subject to your permissions, platform settings, and applicable law.

We work with service providers that process information on our behalf or in connection with the services they provide to us. Their handling of information is also subject to their own terms, privacy policies, and data handling practices.

4.2 AI, Cloud, and Media Processing Providers#

To generate or edit greeting cards, images, videos, or other creative outputs, we may send uploaded content, prompts, and related technical data to third-party cloud, AI, or media processing providers, including Amazon Web Services and Fal.ai.

ClipWish may temporarily cache uploaded photographs and other media files for approximately 24 hours after upload in order to provide editing, generation, and related processing functionality. After that period, such files are deleted or made unavailable from ClipWish's temporary processing storage, unless a longer retention period is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, debugging, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or another legitimate purpose described in this Privacy Policy. Third-party AI, cloud, or media processing providers may process or retain submitted content in accordance with their own terms, privacy policies, and data handling practices, which may differ from ours.

4.3 App Stores, RevenueCat, and Subscription Processing#

If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play according to their own privacy policies and terms. We use RevenueCat to manage paywall screens, subscription status, purchases, entitlements, and related functionality.

4.4 Legal and Safety Reasons#

We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the Company, or others, detect or prevent fraud or security issues, or enforce our Terms of Use and other policies.

4.5 Business Transfers#

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4.6 Advertising, Attribution, and Tracking on iOS#

On iOS, ClipWish may request permission through Apple's AppTrackingTransparency framework before using data collected from the app to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising attribution, advertising measurement, campaign performance analysis, or related marketing purposes.

If you do not grant permission, ClipWish will not access IDFA for tracking and will not use data collected from the app for cross-app tracking in a manner that requires AppTrackingTransparency permission.

Even where tracking permission is not granted, we may still use privacy-preserving, aggregated, contextual, or platform-supported measurement tools that do not require AppTrackingTransparency permission, where permitted by applicable law and platform rules.

5. User Content and Sharing#

ClipWish may allow you to save, download, export, or share generated content outside the App. Once you share content with others or post it publicly, we cannot control how others may use, copy, store, or share that content.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload, generate, edit, or share any content through ClipWish, including content that includes other people's names, images, voices, likenesses, or personal information.

6. Children's Privacy#

ClipWish is not intended for children under the age of 13, or under the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data Retention#

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information. Device identifiers and subscription-related records may be retained while needed to provide the App, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, support users, comply with legal obligations, or maintain service security. Where permitted and based on your permissions, certain attribution, campaign measurement, and related marketing performance records may also be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Uploaded photographs, videos, and other media files may be retained temporarily during processing, including for approximately 24 hours in ClipWish's temporary processing storage. Generated content, including AI-generated greeting cards, images, and videos, may be retained for as long as necessary to provide the App's functionality, allow you to access previously created content in the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain security. Analytics and diagnostic data may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form. Payment-related records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

8. Data Deletion and Your Choices#

ClipWish does not require you to create a traditional user account with email/password credentials to use the core app experience. However, we may create and maintain a device-linked app session, installation identifier, or similar technical identifier in order to operate the Services. Because there is no traditional user account, there is no standard account deletion flow inside the App.

You may request deletion of personal information associated with your app installation, including uploaded photographs, generated content, optional recipient names, device-based identifiers, app instance identifiers, and subscription-related records, where we can reasonably associate that information with your request and where deletion is technically possible and not prohibited by law.

Because ClipWish does not require a traditional user account, we may ask you to provide information that helps us locate your records, such as a device or app instance identifier, a purchase receipt, subscription details, screenshots, support correspondence, or other information reasonably necessary to verify the request and identify the relevant installation. If we cannot reasonably identify the records associated with your request, we may be unable to complete deletion in full.

If you previously granted tracking permission on iOS, you can change that choice at any time in your device settings by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and updating your preferences for ClipWish.

Uploaded photographs, videos, and other media files may be temporarily stored for approximately 24 hours after upload and are then deleted or made unavailable from ClipWish's temporary processing storage. Third-party AI, cloud, or media processing providers may process or retain submitted content in accordance with their own terms, privacy policies, and data handling practices, which may differ from ours.

Deleting the App from your device may remove locally stored data on your device, but it does not automatically delete information that may already have been processed or stored by us or our service providers.

9. Your Privacy Rights#

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent, portability where applicable, and appeal rights where required by law.

We will evaluate and respond to privacy rights requests in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify your identity and your connection to the relevant app installation before processing certain requests.

10. California Privacy Notice#

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

We may collect identifiers, commercial information, internet or electronic network activity information, audio or visual information, inferences, and sensitive personal information if you choose to include it in User Content.

We do not sell personal information for money. We may use certain third-party tools, such as AppsFlyer and advertising or attribution partners, for attribution, analytics, advertising measurement, and marketing performance purposes, including to understand the source of app installs and evaluate the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, subject to user permissions, platform settings, and applicable law. We may also advertise through third-party platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or similar services. If our data practices change in a way that triggers additional disclosure or opt-out rights under California law, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any disclosures or choices required by law.

California residents may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share; request deletion; request correction; opt out of sale or sharing if applicable; limit the use of sensitive personal information where applicable; and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

11. International Data Transfers#

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as contractual protections or other legally recognized mechanisms.

12. Security#

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Third-Party Services#

ClipWish may integrate with or contain links to third-party websites, services, payment providers, app stores, social platforms, analytics providers, cloud providers, AI providers, media processing providers, attribution providers, and advertising or marketing partners. Some of these third-party services may process personal information or user content in connection with the functionality of the App. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services to the extent they operate under their own terms, privacy policies, and data handling practices that we do not control.

14. Push Notifications and Marketing Communications#

With your permission, we may send push notifications about service-related information, product updates, reminders, and other App-related communications. You may disable push notifications through your device settings.

15. Permissions#

Depending on the features you use, ClipWish may request access to certain device permissions, such as photos and media library, camera, notifications, and, on iOS, permission through Apple's AppTrackingTransparency framework for tracking-related advertising attribution, advertising measurement, and related marketing purposes. You can manage these permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work properly if permissions are disabled.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy#

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated Privacy Policy will be effective when posted, unless otherwise stated.
